Profile Top 30 Global Outdoor Companies

Part of a new series of industry reports, the Profile Top 30 Global Outdoor Company Report 2010 offers a unique industry insight including up to date (2010) company profiles, financial analysis (4 years of top line sales information), ownership and acquisitions and company history.

What was once regarded as a regional-based trade consisting of owner-managed businesses has transformed itself from a relative backwater a decade ago, to one of the fastest growing sectors of the global leisure industry outperforming many other leisure related sectors including snowsports, surf and general sports.

UK Camping Equipment Consumer Survey 2009

The report is the largest and most in-depth consumer study ever completed in the UK on the family camping equipment sector and a must for anybody involved in the camping market.

Despite being central to the outdoor industry, the UK camping sector has been poorly served with accurate and consistent market data. During May 2009, Profile Outdoors Ltd conducted an online survey, the purpose of which was to take a snapshot of the UK camping market with an emphasis towards the family sector. Its aim was to identify participation and duration, brand ownership/awareness, spend on camping equipment (tents, sleeping bags, furniture and cookers etc) and identification of favoured retail channels (retail store by market share) and use/importance of the internet.
The survey, the largest of its kind ever conducted with over 3,100 respondents was produced with the assistance provided by three of the most well respected organisations involved in UK camping: The Camping and Caravanning Club, Camping Magazine and UKCampsite.co.uk.
